License Terms
The International Journal for Refugee, Minority, and Gender Studies (IJRMGS) facilitates the wide dissemination of research findings through an open access model, underpinned by the following license terms that balance the interests of authors, the journal, and the broader academic community.
Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)
- Scope of License: All articles published by IJRMGS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This license allows for any use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author(s) and the source are properly credited.
- Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Such use must not suggest any endorsement by the authors or the IJRMGS.
- No Additional Restrictions: Users may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
Author Rights
- Copyright Ownership: Authors retain copyright to their works. The CC BY 4.0 license merely allows others to use, distribute, and build upon the work non-exclusively, as long as proper attribution is given.
- Reuse and Distribution: Authors are encouraged to post the final published version of their works online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their personal website) to promote wider dissemination and increased citation of their work, subject to giving appropriate credit to the original publication in IJRMGS.
Permissions and Use Beyond the License
- Third-Party Material: Authors are responsible for securing permission to reproduce any third-party material (including tables, figures, and quotations) that exceed brief excerpts and are not covered by the CC BY license. Such permissions should be clearly stated in the work.
- Commercial Use: While the CC BY 4.0 license permits commercial use, authors who wish to compile their articles into a commercial work or use articles for commercial purposes should notify IJRMGS as a courtesy.
Preservation of Rights
- Moral Rights: Authors retain moral rights to their works, including the right to be identified as the author and the right to object to derogatory treatments of their work that may harm their reputation.
- Data Sharing and Transparency: Authors publishing in IJRMGS are encouraged to share their research data in a suitable public repository, where this supports the findings in their article. Authors should provide a data accessibility statement in their article.
Modification of License Terms
The IJRMGS reserves the right to update these license terms to align with evolving open access policies and best practices. Any changes to the license terms will be communicated to authors and will apply only to articles published subsequent to the changes.
By submitting their work to the International Journal for Refugee, Minority, and Gender Studies, authors agree to these license terms, ensuring their research is accessible, citable, and usable across the globe under a framework that supports open knowledge and scholarly communication.
