Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is a grave academic misconduct that undermines the integrity of scholarly work. The International Journal of Refugee, Minority, and Gender Studies (IJRMGS) adheres to a strict policy against plagiarism and ensures the originality of content published within its pages.

  1. Zero-Tolerance Policy: IJRMGS maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards plagiarism. Any form of plagiarism, including but not limited to copying text, ideas, images, or data without proper attribution, is unacceptable.
  2. Similarity Index Limitations: The journal mandates that the Similarity Index must not exceed 19% overall and 4% from a single source. Submissions exceeding these thresholds will not be considered for publication.
  3. Originality Declaration: Authors are required to submit an Originality Declaration Form alongside their manuscript. This form affirms that the submitted work is the author’s original creation and has not been published elsewhere. The form is available here: [Author Originality Declaration Form].
  4. Adherence to HEC Plagiarism Policy: The editorial team of IJRMGS rigorously follows the Higher Education Commission (HEC) plagiarism policy, applying it uniformly to all submissions without exception.
  5. Access to Plagiarism Guidelines: Detailed guidelines on avoiding plagiarism, as stipulated by the HEC and supplemented with resources from Leeds Metropolitan University, are available for consultation here: HEC Plagiarism Policy

Preventing Plagiarism: Authors are advised to:

  • Refrain from presenting another’s work or ideas as their own.
  • Properly cite all sources of information and data, whether directly quoted or paraphrased.
  • Avoid the use of unpublished works without explicit permission and acknowledgment.
  • Ensure that individual work is truly independent and not collaboratively produced unless specified.
  • Steer clear of publishing identical data or content across multiple submissions (self-plagiarism).

The IJRMGS Editorial Board reserves the exclusive right to reject submissions that fail to comply with these plagiarism policies. Moreover, submissions demonstrating a Similarity Index above the specified thresholds will be categorically rejected.

Enforcement and Consequences: Manuscripts submitted to IJRMGS undergo rigorous plagiarism screening using advanced detection tools. Instances of plagiarism, when identified, will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript and potential barring of authors from future submissions. In severe cases, the journal may notify the authors' institutions and take further corrective actions in line with academic standards and ethics.

This policy reflects IJRMGS’s commitment to uphold academic integrity and foster a culture of honesty and transparency in scholarly publishing.
